Choosing the Right Size Enclosure for Stick Insects

post_excerpt

Size Matters for Stick Insects

Unlike many invertebrates, stick insects need vertical space to moult properly. A good rule of thumb is: the height of the enclosure should be at least three times the length of the adult insect.

Best 3D-Printed Options

The 25x18x30cm Vivarium is ideal for smaller species or juveniles. For larger species, check our upcoming tall-format 3D-printed tanks. These are safe, escape-proof, and lightweight for easy handling.

Consider Substrate and Climbing

Stick insects love to climb, so vertical branches or mesh support is essential. Be sure to allow for climbing enrichment when calculating your tank’s internal height.

Summary

  • Minimum height: 3× insect length
  • Choose vertical builds
  • Look for good airflow and escape-proof lids

Our 3D-printed options meet all of these needs in one cost-effective, stackable package.
